Our History

We are two families that began renting vehicles in 1983. With over 40 years of auto rentals on Nantucket, we have learned how to keep both locals and visitors happy. Our cars are often used for touring and quick trips, which allows you to bypass the long lines and frustrations of the ferry. Our vehicles are bought right here on the island from our local, small business, dealership. Our staff is a part of the year-round Nantucket community. It feels good to provide good service to the people of Nantucket and their visitors.

Affordable Rentals has a large fleet of new vehicles. We started with four-wheel drive vehicles so people could see the island, but our fleet has expanded to fit different needs throughout the years. People who want to head to Great Point Lighthouse need four-wheel drive vehicles like our popular Jeep Wrangler, trucks, or SUVs. We also offer electric vehicles, two-seaters, and convertibles.

We strongly recommend early reservations for the peak parts of the travel season to be sure that you get the vehicle that you desire.
